Delete your account

Request permanent deletion of your Homefree account and associated data.

Clients: delete your account in the app

If you use the Homefree mobile app, you can permanently delete your account yourself, directly in the app — no email or support request needed:

  1. Open the Homefree app and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account.

Your account and associated data are deleted immediately and the action cannot be undone.

Advisors: contact support

Advisor accounts are managed as part of your business relationship with Homefree. To close an advisor account, email support@homefree.co.nz from your account email with the subject line “Account deletion request”.

What gets deleted

When we process your deletion request, the following information is permanently removed:

  • Your account profile and login credentials
  • Your personal information (name, contact details, date of birth)
  • Your financial information (loans, properties, valuations, balances)
  • Any documents or photos you have uploaded
  • Your household membership records

What is retained

For regulatory compliance and security purposes, we retain a limited audit trail of changes made on the platform. When your account is deleted, your user reference in the audit trail is anonymised so the entries can no longer be linked back to you.

Backups containing your data are retained for a limited period under our backup retention policy and are also purged in due course.

Timeframe

In-app deletion (clients) takes effect immediately. Advisor account deletions requested by email are confirmed and completed within 30 days, with an email confirmation once done.
